Gary sadly passed away today March 4, 2008. He will be greatly missed.

Stephen Pieraldi (Mar 4, 2008 - 11:30 PM CST):
Gary, It was a chance meeting that gave us friendship. It was you who inspired so much and made us Champions. As one of the 4 Steve's I post this to remind us all how much of a friend, creator, mentor and general DM you were. You leave us, but I'll role my constitution and stand for another day. May the lights guide your path and may your family relish the man you were for the time you spent to give so many a childhood that never ended.

I've known the name of Gary Gygax for more than half my four decades. His creations have provided me with a lifetime of enjoyment. I've begun now to pass this legacy on to my sons, and we will share a moment of silence around the gaming table in Gary's honor. Walk the outer planes in peace. You will be missed by those who knew you, as well as those like me who only knew your work. Farewell.

toron lightfoot the dark lord (Mar 5, 2008 - 7:57 PM CST):
This is a sad day. I have enjoyed playing the fine game created by the God Father of role playing games Gary Gygax for twenty seven years. It has brought joy to me my son, and countless friends who sat at my table seeking adventures, and gold in the world Gary created. It brings joy to my heart to read all the coments posted by all of Garys friends, and fans. I just wanted to add my thoughts to the others i have read. I was lucky , and met Gary once at gencon, he couldnt have been nicer, a down to earth kind person in a setting where most thought him a god. I only wish i had known him as a close friend. Good bye kind Sir you shall be missed by many, There shall be a moment of silence at my gameing table this week. To his family, know he has touched many a life, God bless

Jeff (Mar 6, 2008 - 3:21 PM CST):
I'm greatly saddened by the loss of Mr. Gygax. I hope he realizes how much joy, fun and entertainment he brought to the world through his games and ideas. He will be sadly missed, and always a hero to me.
